RCMP say the search for six-year-old Lanakai Morrison has expanded beyond Alberta into northern British Columbia, with police also warning he may be taken toward the Northwest Territories or the Yukon.
The Amber Alert was first issued late Wednesday by Mounties near the Alberta-B.C. boundary.
Lanakai Morrison Reported Taken From Valhalla Centre
Police say Lanakai was taken on Tuesday from Valhalla Centre, a hamlet located about 63 kilometres northwest of Grande Prairie, Alberta.
He is described as a white boy with a slight build, light brown hair and brown eyes.
Last Seen in Fort St. John
RCMP say Lanakai was last seen in Fort St. John, British Columbia, around 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
Fort St. John is roughly 160 kilometres northwest of Valhalla Centre.

Police Identify People He May Be With
Investigators believe Lanakai may be travelling with his mother, 35-year-old Krista Morrison.
Police say Krista Morrison’s partner, 35-year-old Daniel Ludwig, may also be with them.
RCMP also believe another child, four-year-old Karl Morrison, may be travelling with the group.
Vehicle Information Updated
Investigators were initially searching for a black 2015 Toyota Tundra, but RCMP say officers have since located that vehicle.
Police now believe the group changed vehicles and may be travelling in a 2006 red Ford F350 with Alberta licence plate CXW8820.
Public Told Not to Approach
RCMP are warning the public not to approach the vehicle or the people involved if they are spotted.
Anyone who sees them or has information is urged to call 911 immediately.
The Amber Alert for Lanakai Morrison has expanded across multiple regions as RCMP continue searching for the six-year-old boy.
Police believe he may be travelling with Krista Morrison, Daniel Ludwig and four-year-old Karl Morrison in a red 2006 Ford F350. Anyone with information should avoid approaching them and contact 911 right away.
