Man, 35, Charged Following Window-Smashing Spree in Crescentwood

A 35-year-old man is facing multiple charges following a series of window smashings, home break-ins and alleged threats in the Crescentwood area over the weekend.

Homes and Kelvin High School Targeted

Police received several calls on Saturday morning reporting that a man was breaking into residential properties and Kelvin High School on Kingsway.

Investigators said six homes and the school were entered after bricks and rocks were thrown through windows and glass doors.

During some of the incidents, residents allegedly encountered the suspect inside or near their properties. Police said the man threatened several people and stole items from some of the affected homes.

Suspect Found Carrying Broken Bottle

When officers reached the neighbourhood, a person on the street identified a man believed to be responsible for the incidents.

The suspect was reportedly walking nearby while carrying a broken liquor bottle. Officers arrested him without further incident.

Police said the man was not known to any of the victims. Despite the confrontations and alleged threats, no physical injuries were reported.

Multiple Criminal Charges Filed

The 35-year-old suspect has been charged with:

  • Five counts of breaking and entering a home with intent
  • Two counts of breaking and entering another location with intent
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Failing to comply with conditions of a release order

The accused remained in custody following his arrest.

The Crescentwood incidents resulted in damage to several homes and Kelvin High School, along with frightening confrontations for local residents.

Although no injuries were reported, the suspect now faces numerous serious charges connected to the alleged break-ins, threats and weapon-related offence.
